Francisco “Neto” Gomes de Sousa grew up in Niteroi Rio de Janeiro and has trained since he was very young. Starting as a wrestler in his youth, at the age of 18 he began to train Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Since then, Professor Neto has trained and competed all over the world, including Brazil, Abu Dahbi, and eventually the United States.
In 2000 Neto began training under Professor Osvaldo Alves (an IBJJF red belt) eventually receiving his black belt in 2008. He is a three time world champion in both gi and no gi competitions, and has received many medals from competitions all over the world.
Professor Neto is now a 4th degree black belt (IBJJF).
